Lekgotla is a semi-circle seating structure built around an Umlahlankosi Tree (Buffalo Thorn Tree) and it allows visitors to meet and hold discussions in the same way as many has done in various African traditions. 2019-10-08 · Isivane is divided into four key components, namely the Lesaka and its boulders, the Lekgotla, water points, and the Umlahlankosi trees. To accomplish this, a branch of an umlahlankosi tree (also known as an Mpafa or Buffalo Thorn [Ziziphus mucronata]) was used to sweep Shaka’s grave at the original kwaDukuza and then it was carried to the new site after being sprinkled with the gall of a sacrificial animal.
